Finally got my Z out after a long winter. And, spent the whole day yesterday at Dave N.'s house doing needed repairs and upgrades. First off, I want to thank Dave (again) for his great work. Such a nice guy, very professional, and treats every car like it's his own. Anyone in New England should consider him for any work. Dave N, Bernie, and Spee are the only ppl that have touched my car, and I can't say enough positive things about any of them. Some may remember that I was having a rough idle and some power issues. In a nutshell, the car starting idling weird one morning; by researching through TTnet, and some email guidance from Dave and Bernie, I was able to diagnose a faulty #4 fuel injector. The week it happened, the injector ohmed out at around 15. Within a month, it was an open circuit (no reading). So Dave replaced the injector via the dremel method (first time for him!) and the car runs great. It pulls unbelievably hard, and it feels so good to not only have the car out after winter, but to be running so smooth and strong now. I dyno'd last fall at 350ish rwhp/370ish tq...well turns out that was with a bad injector. So I'm curious to see what this car can really do--it seems to be a particularly strong one, especially given the short list of power mods. Anyway, I had some wants for my track season...we installed RSR springs and new OEM struts, ES front control arm bushings (what a messy, PITA job that is), and Russell's Wilwood brake kit. Turn-in is much improved, although the car is a little bouncy, but seems to be settling down. No more dive/squat. I'm having some issues with the Wilwood kit, so I'll leave that for later while I try to work it out with Russell and Dave. (If anyone who has the kit wouldn't mind emailing me, I'd like to compare notes).

So today I gave the car a nice wash and wax, first since it went into hibernation for the winter, and went out to take some pics. I tried playing with light and shadows a little bit, trying to get the best results; unfortunately the camera doesn't necessarily record what my eyes see =) So some pics are ok...I was also trying to get some cool backgrounds, with mixed results. There are some awesome backdrops in New Haven but there's no really no place to park to take a picture, not with all the vehicle and pedestrain traffic. If anyone in CT wants to get together to take some pics someday, it would be much easier with someone else to set up for the pic, and roll in real quick...Anyway here you go.
